PFor this year’s Unarchive – Cinema on Fire campaign, flames give way to flowers: the fire that once burned becomes nourishment for new growth. The red carnation, symbol of the anti-fascist resistance, the red primrose, and poppies—associated with memory and rebirth—emerge as emblems of this transformation. The festival image shows that every act of liberation brings forth new blossoms.
This page showcases the work created for the festival in its various formats.
This year, the festival includes Riuso di classe, a new section dedicated to experimental works made with archival material by under-35 artists.
For this reason, I chose not to focus on a single image—such as the kids among tulips, originally conceived as the main visual—but instead to create an imaginative visual world capable of accompanying the festival’s various sections.
Special thanks to artistic directors Alina Marazzi and Marco Bertozzi, Luca Ricciardi, Aurora Palandrani, Matteo Angelici and Stefano Cirone of the AAMOD Archive, and Roberto Dal Balzo for supporting the project’s development.
